How Do You Want to Play Drums?

Our lessons draw from 30+ years experience in many music genres and styles performed in a multitude of situations. You’ll discover the world of drumming, unlock your creativity, and make music that you want to play.

Many of my former students have careers playing drums or continue to play for fun. As a pit musician at the Grand Theatre for 20 years I’ve mentored music students for the annual High School Project. Teaching for the Music Industry Arts program at Fanshawe College and instructing at Matthew’s Hall private school has enabled me to provide a variety of effective approaches and options for anyone interested in drumming.

LOUIE HENNESSY

Long after our lessons starting at 8 years old, Louie Hennessy graduated from the Fanshawe College Music Industry Arts program and now plays for the group Strange Ways. They are a 3-piece thrash metal band out of London, ON. In their first 3 years as a band they released 2 demos, one 7” EP via Grooves Records, and one 12” LP ‘Hand of the Maze’ via Yeah Right! Records. Their debut LP was recorded by Taylor Young (Twitching Tongues, Nails) in Van Nuys, California.

LOUIE’S RECOMMENDATION:

Ted is an extremely patient teacher, while at the same time pushing his students to become the best they possibly can. The first time I ever played behind a kit was in my first lesson with Ted, and to this day I am still learning and drawing influence from Ted’s style and techniques. Whether you are just starting, or have been playing for years, I think drummers of any age or skill level can learn and grow, as a musician with the knowledge and experience Ted has to offer. Learn More
